KIMBWALA SCHOOL PROGRESS
In late 2011, at the end of phase I, there was much improvement at the Kimbwala Elementary School. The school administration is proactive, Unicef is building a water reservoir and the number of students has increased from 250 to 400. The larger student body has resulted in overcrowded classrooms so we decided to immediately continue with phases II and III. In the first quarter of 2012 an unfinished building was magically transformed into 2 classrooms and 2 administrative offices. We also renovated the entire existing school building. Kimbwala Elementary now has 12 beautiful new classrooms instead of the 4 dilapitated ones it had before. A huge improvement with lots of growth potential.

ORIGIN OF DONATIONS
Total donations in 2011 amounted to 115,000 Euros. During the assembly of the 2011 Annual Report we looked into where our donations originate. Approximately 35% of the donations stem from Dutch corporations, 35% from private donors, 10% from fundraising by En Classe alumnae, students, schools, choirs and churchs etc. and 20% from new fundraising efforts in the United States.
5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY In May 2012, the En Classe Foundation will celebrate her 5 year anniversary, an amazing and inspiring fact for all those who have spent the last five years working hard to improve conditions for school children in Kinshasa. Preparations to celebrate this fantastic achievement are in full swing. In the coming weeks you will receive a special edition of the newsletter detailing the celebratory plans.
